Have you ever done a Fool's Journey exercise? Why don't you settle in with us on the Dark Moons and try this one out with us.
This is a powerful guided meditation to help you with your shadow work, your turning- inward, and your understanding of your place in your own current journey through the world. For my version you will need a classic Rider-Waite tarot deck, a standard composition book, and a pen. You can use any deck you like, just make sure you have a clear Major Arcana section that you can separate out and that works in a clear, numerically assigned order. Start with your first card, typically the Fool. Consider the imagery. Meditate with it. Take your time, really listen to it. Now, open your notebook and start a story about that card. What does it say about the start of the story? Who is the Fool to you in this scenario and how does his story begin? Why? Be as detailed as you need. Some cards will have more to say than others, and the story you tell will never be the same twice. It doesn't have to make sense or meet the "classic" meaning of the cards. Just let the story flow as it needs to. Next month we will move on to the next card. Try not to get ahead of yourself; it's about the journey, not the destination. Feel free to comment with your own experiences.

The Dark Moon is a mysterious time when that which is hidden becomes more accessible. It is a time for contemplation and for change.
Join us on the Dark Moon of each month to take a look in the mirror. While all are welcomed, be advised that Dark Moons can be a difficult time, and many traditions limit observation of Dark Moons to Second Degree initiates or greater. ArchivesCategories |
